Services need to be more inclusive...

Throughout her career, Christie has interacted with a diverse array of young individuals, each encounter revealing a critical gap in our healthcare system: the initial linking of individuals to services and the support provided in between these services. This gap is especially pronounced in rural regions, where 24/7 mental health and social support are notably lacking, and the need for inclusive services that cater to every young person’s unique circumstance is glaringly evident.

Christie’s involvement with Youth Chat stems from a deep-seated belief in the necessity of bridging these gaps. Youth Chat is more than just an initiative to Christie; it's a passion project that aligns perfectly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, emphasising the importance of inclusive and accessible support services. Through Youth Chat, Christie envisions a transformed Australian service landscape—one where the initial connection to services and the critical support in between are readily available to all young people, ensuring no one is left behind. Her dedication and vision are pivotal to our mission of making inclusivity the norm in Australian services, ensuring that every young person, regardless of their background or location, has the support they need to flourish.
