SDG 3
Youth Chat directly contributes to promoting mental health and well-being for young Australians by providing confidential, free social support in any language. This aligns with SDG 3's target to reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases through prevention and treatment, and promote mental health and well-being.
-
SDG 10
Youth Chat's emphasis on offering services in 135 languages and catering to a diverse audience, specifically youth from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Backgrounds, works towards reducing inequalities. This aligns with SDG 10's goal to empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status. This ensures equal opportunities and reduces inequalities of outcome.
-
SDG 11
Through providing information and support related to housing and shelter, Youth Chat contributes to making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. This supports the goal's aim to ensure access for all to adequate, safe, and affordable housing and basic services.
